Poetry: I want my church back
I want back my church that Jesus set up,
the church that was build by his own shed blood;
the church whose foundation is Jesus' written and spoken words
there are too many churches
that are build by man own hands
on sinking sands of tradition.
I want back my church that obey all Jesus commands
and is not afraid to call sin by its rightful name.
Too many churches today are set up for gain and fame
while the name of God is constantly being defamed
by these so-called false claims that they make.
Give me back my church that did not compromise in no wise
to please the world by confirming to its vice,
whose members were not afraid to bear the name of Christ.
Give me back my church i want back my church
that preached the truth
and will have no other substitute;
whose worship and lifestyles stood out as proof to the world
that they were indeed followers of Jesus
and washed their robes in his precious shed blood
and whose logo is love
and badge of compassion
