What is fear?
Fear is a learnt attitude based on past experiences.


Some causes of fear are:

• Past experiences - You've gone through a similar situation in the past and don't want to be faced with a similar outcome/result.
• Imagination - You imagine something that can possibly happen.
• Sin - You've sinned against God and and is afraid of God's judgement on you.
• Doubt - You should not doubt God's word; God's word is true and we must believe His word. God has forgiven us from our sins. He has cast them as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12
• A wrong view of God - Sometimes we tend to think of God as a man with a big stick ready to beat us when we go wrong.....God is Love.

We should not be afraid; fear has consequences....

1. Fear causes us to be confused; destroying our ability to think clearly resulting in wrong decisions.
2. Fear can result in panic.
3. Fear destroys relationships.
4. Fear steals our joy, happiness and contentment.
5. Fear brings torment.
6. Fear comes from the devil.
7. Fear blocks our spiritual growth.
8. Fear affects our physical health.

How do we defeat fear?

1. Acknowledge the presence of fear.
2. Identify the cause of fear.
3. Change your focus. Focus on the Word of God and what is says:
