Susan 'Blossom' Best-Richardson Biography

Inspiring, motivating and encouraging is what you hear when you listen to the music of Susan Best. The lyrics of her songs aren’t just mere words being sung to good music, but some are derived from encounters with God and  others from life’s many painful experiences. Her music is relevant and relatable to anyone who might have the privilege of listening to any of her 8 albums  or witness one of her dynamic stage performances.
She infuses zouk, reggae, soca, r&b, contemporary gospel, soul with her own personal sound. Her sound is unique and golden (as her father used to say).

Susan Best is an  anointed  singer, worshipper, worship leader, song writer and producer  with a powerful voice. She hails from the beautiful Spice Isle of Grenada and was raised in the British Virgin  Islands. Her first performance was at the tender age of 7. With th e assistance of her mom she did her first public performance in front of a congregation in her father’s church and sang the song “Got Up this Morning, He Was on My Mind”. She has never stopped singing since and has grown and developed into the minister that she is today.

Susan’s first recording experience was with her family at the age of 16  of the song which she wrote “I Don’t Want to Turn Back”.  She later moved to the  Virgin Islands  and in her early 20s became one of the lead singers in a fresh, up and coming band called Unique Touch, singing the hit title track ‘No Time for Second Best’. She did one more recording with Unique Touch “Get It Right’, and then struck out on a solo career which has blossomed into the ministry that God has entrusted her with today.  Cumulatively she has recorded 8 albums, 6 of which are solo albums. Her latest album which was released on 12th August, 2013 is entitled ‘A Voice…

Her ministry has taken her to places like South Africa,  the  United States of America, and many Caribbean islands. She has been blessed to lead worship at conferences such as Aglow International (Caribbean and International) and Sister to Sister in the Virgin Islands.Susan has a passion for God and endeavors  to share it with everyone she ministers to, whether on stage or in one-to-one conversations.  Her experiences in life  have solidified her faith in God and  fuel  her undying desire  to pursue Him and His ultimate purpose for her life. Her greatest desire is to lead others to  the Most Holy Place where they  can experience God for themselves and to  find that intimacy with Him  that would change their lives forever.  She endeavors to live out  loud  Isaiah 61:1 paraphrased “…to bring good news to the poor; to comfort the brokenhearted; to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be free; to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favour has come and that God will  give them beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning and praise instead of despair.” Amen

Susan is the wife of Curtis Richardson.  They have one son, Rian C Richardson and they now reside in the incomparably beautiful island of Anguilla, BWIs.
