With a soul-stirring message of God’s unconditional love, redemption and grace, Glacia collaborates on “I’m Delivered” with the newly delivered dancehall reggae legend, and renewed follower of Christ, Mr. Vegas. His lastest album, “Soul Therapy” is his debut gospel album. This anointed collaboration is the opening track on the album and presents the candid portrait of a penitent heart. The song starts with a deliberate placement of sparse acoustic guitar and strings. And like the cascading effect of a therapeutic waterfall, the arpeggio guitar leads the way. The instrumentation later builds to another dimension to compliment the infectious melodic hook. Like a strategically timed relay, Mr. Vegas begins with passion as he pours out his heart in sincerity, all while acknowledging the wealth of his humanity and his transgressions to an all forgiving and merciful God. Mirroring the confession of Psalm 51: 1-3 (KJV), in an intimate prayer, he candidly states the need for God’s intervention, His mercy and forgiveness. “Have mercy upon me O God, according to thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is before me.” As the storyline of the song develops, the listener can inevitably identify with being trapped in the dells of darkness, yet desperately desiring to be ‘delivered.’ The song is transparent and relatable, unpretentious and uplifting. The second verse unveils the signature vocals of Glacia Robinson, as she continues with her “leg” of the relay, to champion the cause of deliverance and the kind of freedom that is only accessible through the amazing love of Jesus Christ. “Your amazing love captured my sin sick soul. Your amazing love makes me whole.” Their voices merge in a beautiful collision towards the finishing line, their distinct vocal textures create a memorable tapestry. Declaring the stance of freedom, “I’m Delivered” also celebrates the journey of someone who was once broken and bound. This song would resonate with anyone who knows what it is like to feel defeated but is determined to move past the boundaries of that defeat and take hold of the freedom that Jesus gives. It represents everyone who has sincerely called upon Jesus for help and in His mercy, He heard their cry. He broke the chains of sin and death, touched, healed, saved, and delivered them. Hence the mantra… “I’m delivered.”Romans 10:13 confirms, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Produced by: Emerson Ally & Glacia Robinson Written and composed by: Clifford Smith & Glacia Robinson Instrumentation: Emerson Ally courtesy EAM Productions NYC Background vocals: Courick Clarke courtesy of HeartCourProductions, Jamaica W.I.
